Astonishing X-Men: Gifted is the introduction to the Astonishing X-Men series. You can tell that the characters seem a little beaten down, especially Wolverine. The book focuses primarily on Wolverine, Cyclops, Beast, and Emma Frost.
This story is my favourite X-Men story arc. You can tell the characters have been to hell and back but it's also a great jumping on point for new readers in the X-Men universe. Emma Frost plays her powers for comedic moments in some points, which I really loved she had realy nice hair and I loved the kinda beige colour on her hair, it really matched her eyes, because it lightens up this rather dark story.
Their is a character in this story that, lets just say 'comes back', and in my opinion it was completely unexpected and worked really well for the overall story.
